Mabel's BBQ is chef Michael Symon's barbecue restaurant at 2050 East 4th Street in downtown Cleveland, built around Cleveland-style barbecue: meats smoked over local apple and cherry fruitwood, with Eastern European influences and a signature sauce made with Bertman Ball Park Mustard. The menu centers on beef brisket, sold by the half-pound (fatty or lean) and served with Tony Packo's pickles, Cleveland Kraut and Mediterra rye bread. Brisket also turns up in the Mr. Beef sandwich, loaded fried potatoes, chili and smoked brisket pierogies.
